Building bridges from Turkey to UB

Ahmet “Matt” H. Yildizlar, a 1987 graduate of the School of Management and a member of the UB Alumni Association Board and the UB Foundation, is making a difference for students from Turkey who want to attend UB.

Yildizlar has given more than $100,000 to UB to benefit both his native country and his alma mater, by creating a scholarship fund for Turkish students.

His goal is to fund at least four undergraduate students from Turkey in a given year. Yildizlar partners with the charity Education Volunteers of Turkey, to help select scholarship recipients.

Yildizlar, now an American citizen, is managing partner of Star Venture Group LLC, a highly successful financial services and consulting business based in White Plains, New York.
