DREAM Program

DREAM Program.

The School of Social Work’s DREAM (Developing Relationships through Empowerment, Advocacy and Motivation) program has evolved over the past two years into three programs that make a difference in Buffalo residents’ lives.

Still going strong is the program’s collaboration in which social work students volunteer with the community-based Girls Sports Foundation, serving as mentors, tutors and positive role models for young girls.

Students are also doing outreach at the Lutheran Church Home.  Bingo, card games, crafts and sing-a-longs are ways in which they raise the spirits of residents.

This fall, the program had a third manifestation at Vive La Casa, working to help meet the needs of refugees who seek shelter there.
