Receiving a scholarship was such an honor, it stopped a grateful Sarah Kuszczak in her tracks: “It made me pause to reflect on my accomplishments so far, which doesn’t happen often in the hustle and bustle of graduate school,” says Sarah, a new UB graduate in counseling and school psychology. She chose UB because it offers a doctoral program that blends research and clinical practice, preparing her to work in a hospital setting, her ideal job.
Sarah says she appreciated the supportive GSE faculty, who prepared her to “take what I learned in class and apply it directly to counseling my patients, and see positive changes in them.”
Having completed practicums at Roswell Park Cancer Institute and Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, and the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care in Cheektowaga, Sarah is completing her internship at the DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston.
