The fund is used to support recruitment of top faculty to the school, in keeping with the university’s bold strategic plan, UB 2020, which seeks to transform UB into a premier public research institution that provides excellence in teaching, scholarship and service to its surrounding communities.

The fund also supports faculty and student enrichment activities, helping pay for continuing education opportunities and conferences for faculty, and for student projects, scholarships and awards. The Florence Nightingale Fund also provides money to purchase much-needed educational equipment and supplies in order for the school to continue offering excellent instruction to students.
