Boosting basketball at UB

Financial services entrepreneur and former co-owner and CEO of the New York Islanders NHL hockey team, Stephen Walsh is committed to UB’s athletic programs because of “four very important years at Buffalo, years that moved me into a different world, and sports were a very special part of those years.”

Walsh, a 1966 graduate, and his wife, Janet, gave $500,000 to support the men’s and women’s basketball teams. The Stephen Walsh Basketball Office Complex was dedicated September 11, 2004. This center will meet the growing demands of UB's men's and women's basketball programs because of Walsh.
