UB has given me a lot of opportunities to see what I want to do. By winning the Buffalo News/UB Scholarship for Journalism I got to work at the Buffalo News and see if that was something I wanted to do.
I guess I thought I would know who I was by the end of four years, and that I would know exactly what I wanted. But I just realized last week that college is just a jumping off point. UB gave me the foundation to be able to say, "O.K. I'm finding out who I am. These are the experiences I've learned. They have helped me to find out what I want to do. And I know this about me, but there's still a lot more to know."
You're never going to know what exact career you want and the exact lifestyle just after four years. I mean it takes a lot of time.
