Unfortunately, tuition alone doesn’t cover the costs of your education. New York state contributes its share and private philanthropy plays its part. Much of the funding for scholarships, new lab equipment and uniforms for the marching band is provided by alumni and friends.
However, students like you can and do make a difference. Many, especially in their senior year, have contributed through the Senior Class Challenge. Past donations have provided the seal and the flags in the student union, landscaping and signs on both campuses, and support for the Random Acts of Kindness Fund to assist students in need of emergency funds.
Both students and parents have contributed to the Random Acts of Kindness Fund. It sent students home to families after the tragedy of 9/11, it bought new books and clothes for a student who lost his belongings in a fire, and it helped a student who was a victim of an off-campus robbery.
You may also support UB through UB Believers, a dedicated group of Western New Yorkers from all walks of life. As part of this broad-based advocacy group, they share a belief that a strong UB will lead to a brighter future for all of Buffalo Niagara.
